A full oral rehabilitation is essentially treatment of the entire mouth to restore proper function and establish ideal aesthetics. Such treatment most commonly involves crowns, bridges and/or implants and is indicated where numerous teeth are compromised due to excessive wear, parafunction like grinding of the teeth, abundant old restorative work, incorrect alignment, and/or grossly compromised aesthetics.

Oral rehabilitation may also be indicated to re-stabilise the occlusion when the bite has collapsed due to lost teeth or excessive wear. In such cases the patient bites too deeply or may have a functional lock or dysfunctional slides, placing the health of the jaw joints and the remaining teeth are at risk. With full oral rehabilitation, the heights and shapes of all the teeth are corrected to re-establish proper function.
